This 38-year-old band vocalist was based in Bangkok, Thailand before trying her luck in “The Voice of the Philippines,” which she referred to then as a “perfect venue” for her talent to be recognized, separate from her physical appearance.

As it happened, Javier’s power vocals turned four chairs in the Blind Auditions, as she sang the Aretha Franklin hit “A Natural Woman.”

Beating Lance Fabros in the Battle Rounds, where they performed “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Javier shined in the Live Shows with stirring performances of “I Believe I Can Fly,” “Chain of Fools,” “Umagang Kay Ganda” and “Imagine.”

This 42-year-old music veteran from Manila easily zoomed to frontrunner status when he turned two chairs during the Blind Auditions with his strong voice and charisma.

The lead vocalist of The Draybers, Yonting brought his experience to the auditions stage with “Bakit Ako Mahihiya.” Faced with a decision to pick either Lea Salonga or Bamboo Manalac as coach, Yonting eventually joined the Broadway diva’s stable.

For the Battle Rounds, Yonting was paired with Chien Berbana for a stirring renditino of “Alone.” He would go on to earn a landslide victory in public votes during the Live Shows with “Don’t Stop Me Now,” which he followed up with hit performances of “Paano,” “Against All Odds,” and “The Power of Love.”

This 21-year-old singing contest alumnus from Makati City met a former competitor when she entered the Blind Auditions, as she was one of coach Sarah Geronimo’s co-finalists in “Star for a Night” in 2003.

Impressing all four coaches with her rendition of “Tulak ng Bibig, Kabig ng Dibdib,” de Guzman eventually landed a spot in Team Sarah.

She figured in a three-way showdown with Gabriel Ramos and Rouxette Swinton during the Battle Rounds, and proceeded to wow the audience and her coach in the Live Shows with “Beggin’,” “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” “The Voice Within,” and “To Love Somebody.”

This 22-year-old singer from Puerto Princesa, Palawan was a student at UST’s Conversatory of Music, but gave up his education to help in the expenses of his mother’s treatment for cancer.

Perez turned four chairs in the Blind Auditions with the Jason Mraz hit “I’m Yours,” which gave a preview of his unique twist in taking up popular songs going into the competition.

For the Battle Rounds, he was paired up with John Philip Duka to perform a mash-up of “Hey Jude” and “Come Together.” Combining songs, as the show unfolded, became Perez’s strength to win the approval of his coach and the public.

The former music student made waves in the Live Shows, first with a mash-up of “California Gurls” and “Isn’t She Lovely?”, followed by the Adele hit “Chasing Pavements,” and most recently, “Change the World” and “Baby, I Love Your Way” for his semi-finals bid.
